*********** June 10, 2008 ********** Hello listeners. We lost a couple outstanding singer/sonwriter/performers recently. Chris Gaffney passed away a couple of months ago after a short battle with liver cancer. The Golden Voice of the Great Southwest, Utah Phillips also caught the westbound in late May, a week after his 73rd birthday. Both of these artist's memories and legacy will be kept alive and well at Wild West Radio.
++++++ UPDATE APRIL 6th 2007++++++ Wild West Radio's Jeff Scammon along with Radio Paradise's (and former KFAT radio personality) Bill Goldsmith appeared today on Jeffrey Callison's "Insight" program on Capital Public Radio station KXJZ in Sacramento today. The topic was the proposed unfair rate hike for Internet radio broadcasters. You can listen to the podcast by clicking here. Our many thanks to Jeffrey Callison and his staff at Insight for their interest in Wild West Radio and Internet broadcasting.
))))))))))) UPDATE April 4th, 2007 (((((((((((
In yesterday's Sacramento Bee, Bee writer Sam McManus and photograper Autumn Cruz did a fine article on the plight of Internet radio stations to combat the unfair efforts of the RIAA. You can read the entire article here.
Finally an update!!! March 23, 2007 Today at 4:30 PM, we doubled our listening slots which will allow double the number of listeners to tune in concurrently. This had become an increasing problem in past weeks as our server was reaching capacity for hours at a time. The only downside to the increased listening slots is the increased expense. I guess I won't worry about that too much as our listeners have always come through with financial support when we've needed it. We could really use you support now more than ever!
**************Update 9/07/06************* On September 6th, Jeffrey Callison's Insight program on KXJZ in Sacramento, featured the topic of Pirate Radio, Low Power FM Stations and Cable Radio. Founder/Operator of Wild West Radio, Jeff Scammon was asked to appear as a guest to discuss the aspects of Pirate Radio and Internet Radio Broadcasting. You can listen to the show by clicking here.

Back by popular demand, it's the FM Broadcast of Wild West Radio on 92.9 (sort of) read on... Since the FM broadcast went off the air, I know you've had to listen to the station while at your computer. Now you can listen once again on your home stereo to the Internet Broadcast. Wild West Radio now has for sale a FM Stereo Transmitter that will plug in to the speaker output of your computer. You then set the transmitter to any frequency on the FM band, then tune any/all of your home stereo systems to that frequency and enjoy Wild West Radio throughout your house and yard. This device is fully complient with FCC part 15. (in non-tech talk, it's completely legal). Included with your purchase is a splitter for your speaker jack on your computer, and a 6' extension for the wire leading to the small yet powerful stereo FM transmitter. This is the easiest installation ever and will take about two minutes. So, you've got to be asking yourself right about now, "What will this great set up cost me, $20,000?" Well, no. We're selling the whole kit (while supplies last) for just $79.95 plus $6.00 postage, for a final price of $85.95. These quality devices can also be used to broadcast your Mp3 players and ipods.
*********************UPDATED 8/10/2006*********************** Thanks to listener donations, Wild West Radio is now streaming around the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Look for more surprises just around the corner!
The Sacramento News and Review article is now available for viewing. http://www.newsreview.com/sacramento/Content?oid=oid%3A80314
It’s mostly accurate, except the part about “the severe interference.” Sac News and Review apparently didn’t read the FCC notice properly. There are a few other discrepancies as well, but I do appreciate them taking an interest In Wild West Radio and getting the word out.
For a donation or gift of just $50, you will receive a CD loaded with some great Wild West Radio Music. For a $150 gift, you'll receive as a "thank you" an awesome 6 CD set. A wonderful addition to any Music Junkies' Collection.
Any donation amount is useful and greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
-Jeff |
